How come when you eat soup, your nose gets runny?!

Question: Seems like everytime you eat warm soup, your nose always runs. Just curious as to why.

I would it assume it's from the heat that opens up your capilaries, and when you lean over to sip it your sinuses drain downwards.

Same effect as a hot shower. Steam + nose = runny
