Should I toss these smoked turkey legs?!

Question: I bought them Thanksgiving eve to put in my collard greens. I still have one spare unopened package that reads: BEST BEFORE 1/1/08 KEEP REFRIDGERATED. There are 2 legs packed in vacuum-sealed plastic. I never froze them, but rather I kept them in the crisper box and forgot about them. They're still good, aren't they? Help please. Thanx.

Yes, the smoking process and subsequent preservatives kill and resist bacteria. Esp. if you've kept these refrigerated, they're fine. =)

You can use them if they say 1/1/08....

they should be fine, smoked meats last a long time.

Sure go a head. Don't let the go to waste.

should be, but remember that old adage... when in doubt, throw it out.

yeah they are still good. smoked food lasts longer. u can even throw them in the freezer the day they expire, then pull them out later on.

they sould be fine

because they're smoked, they are fine, just make sure the package is still air tight. smoking preserves meat and they last quite a while. just freeze until you're ready to use them.
