Have you ever eaten a whole habanero? Is it possible, or are they too hot?!

Question: I ate a whole habanero once, my tongue instantly became white on the top(blistered) and my throat was numb for days and my taste buds never came back for almost 2 weeks, that was a white habanero pepper one of the hottest things i've ever eaten and i don't recommend other people trying it unless they have sadist tendencies.

i have and they arent really that hot, i get teary eyed when i eat jalepenos but not habanero's weird huh

You can if your stupid enough

I have eatten a couple of whole ones. They are extremely hot going in and coming out. So it is possible but they can be very hot.

definitely possible, definitely HOT. drinking milk afterward usually helps lessen the heat.

Both of my sons did! Then downed about a 1/2 gal of milk! FYI, my oldest son said that there are different types of Habaneros and the green that you get in the stores, (that they ate,) are the mildest! Can you imagine how HOT the others are???

Every bit of mucous in your nose and throat would pour out. The effect is beyond imagination. Ouchy..LOL

"green habaneros"???

BTW---milk and bread do NOTHING----you need a carbonated beverage--beer or soda. If you're going to use milk or bread for habaneros you might as well try putting out a house fire with an icecube.

these are the hottest peppers in the world although i have only tried the orange ones and they range from 80,000 to 200,000 scoville units.jalapenos only range from 3,000 to 8,000 units if that helps you out. and there is no way i would try to eat one by itself.
