Are people who hate Starbucks mentally ill?!

Question: I hear people who claim to ''hate'' Starbucks. Not only the coffee but the place. Now how can one hate something that is so good? The place is clean, they have great bakery goods, good coffee 'at least i think so' and i drink it because IT tastes good. So what is their problem?

i hate starbucks because they act too preppy. the place is rying to be high end and doesnt lend itself to the average working person. i love dunkin donuts, its for the real people in the world who have lives.

What if Chuck Norris hates Starbucks?

i think so cos its bomb

I heard that Starbucks won't send their coffee to the troops in Iraq so why not hate them??!!

no, they're sane people who don't feel like paying 5 dollars for a cup of coffee when they can by a whole can of coffee and make some as home.
but i'm mentally ill, cuz i do like starbucks.

People are entitled to their own opinions. I hate coffee in general so Starbucks does nothing for me. There aren't any Starbucks in my home city, but it has gained such a great reputation and fame which, having been to some overseas, I don't think is deserved. Sure, it's nice as enormous chain businesses go, but local coffee shops have much better atmosphere in my view.

Some people have told me that they can't stand the smell of coffee and that it makes them sick also the sugar gets to them. As for me I love Starbucks but I have to stay away because it causes me to have really bad caffeine attacks (chest pains) I can't get anything bigger then a tall.

maybe the people are working in another store which leads to jealousy ^_^ hahahha

Well, I like coffee out of my coffee maker. If people like it, that's cool. I just don't like it (hate is too strong of a word) because I think it's over-priced java. I make a wicked home brew mahself! It's come under scrutiny before because of all the calories in some of the drinks too.

starbucks=
overrated.
over priced.
disgusting (i hate coffee personally).

oh and by the way
caffeine is REALLY bad for you..
umm but then again americans don't seem to care about their health..

maybe there are people who just hate paying $5 for coffee. Has nothing to do with mentally ill, just smart.

It's not all that special place. A lot of coffee places are clean, have bakery goods and offer free wifi.

This is an incredibly ignorant question on several levels. I'll tackle just one.

Some people aren't keen on the idea of every town looking identical to its neighbor, and Starbucks is one major company that is contributing to the sameness of American cities. Some of us appreciate better quality coffee (I'm talking coffee-- not sugar drinks injected with a shot or two of caffeine) and pastries that come from local sources and are available at better prices. Some of us want to support our local business owners. Some of us appreciate diversity in our options.

People who hate Starbucks are CRAZY!!!!!
Starbucks, just thinking about Starbucks makes me smile... if only I had a starbucks drink in my hand :(

Starbucks is my soulmate <3 lol

I didn't know they had bakery goods. Might have to check that out, though I'm still sure I would prefer Panera Bread for bakery. I just hate coffee period - nasty stuff. But, I'm not mentally ill. Perfectly sane . . .well at least as sane as anyone can be.

Your answers. . .

No and I just don't like coffee at all

Maybe, the coffee's, actually, the cause of the mental illness, yes? Merry Christmas!

i live in Australia, and i hate that we have a star bucks, the coffee is sweet without adding sugar and yuck, way over priced.. i can cook a meal for my family for the same price as 2 coffees and then there is the fake status symbolism of holding a starbucks cup (we laugh at the people we see with them.
i hate krispy kreams for the same reasons and that the company fundraisers in Australian primary schools where obesity is a huge problem

Now to answer the question: no, people who have a strong dislike for Starbucks are not mentally ill.

Yes, their stores are clean, but so cluttered that it is difficult to move without knocking something over or bumping into someone. Their coffee is far from fresh, and their baked goods are mass-produced. I live in a small town that, until recently, was Starbucks-free. That translates into: we are spoiled by the coffee shoppe in town that makes their own pasteries daily and brews coffee that was locally roasted last week.

When I have to visit the 'big city' I usually end up running into a Starbucks simply because they can be convenient, which really makes me appreciate the coffee shoppe here in town. I don't hate Starbucks, but I also know that I only go to McDonald's when there is no other choice.

I don't know about anyone else but I don't like coffee and I don't want to spend $5 on a muffin.

You only like Starbucks because you don't know any different, try traveling to mainland Europe and have a look for a Starbucks I live in France and have never seen one, once you have drunk French, Italian etc, you will know the difference and before you say Starbucks do French and Italian coffee, no they don't, they just call it that. I can just imagine some French construction worker going into a Starbucks at 5.30 am for his coffee and croissant, he would have a fit,
