How much is too much bacon?!
Answers: I;m a 22 year old male and I never used to eat a lot of bacon growing up but I find myself eating like a serving every other day or like 4/5 times a week just because it's in sandwiches and burgers and stuff. I am skinny and in good shape but just wondering if this is too much I guess a serving is like 3 or 4 strips
A 2007 study by Columbia University suggests a link between eating cured meats, such as bacon, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nitrites were posited as a possible cause.
Nitrates Many foods, especially cured meats such as bacon and hot dogs, use nitrates to preserve color and maintain microbial safety. Nitrate is harmless, but it can convert to nitrite, which can form nitrosamines, a powerful cancer-causing chemical, in your body. Whenever possible, look for nitrate-free preserved meats. When you do eat foods containing nitrates, have a glass of orange juice at the same time (for instance, orange juice with your morning bacon). Vitamin C is known to inhibit the conversion to nitrosamines in your stomach.
People who eat cured meats are more likely to develop certain diseases**such as lung cancer.
One serving a week, max. Bacon is too unhealthy to be consumed on a regular basis (numerous times in a short amount of time)
I <3 Bacon.
yes a serving is three strips.
but if you put it onto a burger the burger is also one serving, unless it is a bigger burger than a 1/4 pounder ( then it is more..
so think about it how much do you need to have as a meat serving daily.
one serving of any meat is the size of a pack of cards..

i say any is too much but a little is ok (1 or 2)
its pretty much the worst meat (for you)
its all grease and fat
if you have it on a burger its terrible for you
thats a hard one.....I love bacon..and eat alot of it....but I am also on a low carb diet..which in turn my chol has dropped over 100 points even while I eat bacon.....but some will tell you its not good for you....especially alot of it....due to the amount of fat....if your chol isnt an issue....... enjoy while you can.....Seems most everything you eat now days has a down side to it anyway.....
Bacon is awesome! It is not the best for anyone but it is worth enjoying.

There is no such thing as too much bacon! Especially if you're thin and don't have to watch your weight. Eat up and enjoy!
