My freezer went out how long does it take for meat to spoil?!
As long as the meat has ice crystals in it, the meat is probably okay. Probably 24 to 36 hours is about the most you will be able to keep it unless you live in an area that is cold right now, then you may be able to keep it longer by putting the food in a cooler and setting the cooler outside. If you can't get the food into a freezer soon, I would suggest that you cook all of the food and put it into your refrigerator freezer or at the very least, into your refrigerator. That will hold the food a little longer.
Answers: First, don't open the freezer door anymore than you have to, this will keep the cold inside and help the food stay frozen longer.

If you don't open the door, you have about 24 hours. Then you should just cook it all and save it in the fridge as leftovers.
DO NOT REFREEZE FOOD THAT HAS THAWED w/o cooking it first!
once it thaws you need to cook it within a couple of days
ummm it depends on the temperature in your house... id say about 24 hours at like room temp.
keep it in a cooler ice it down and it will last a couple days untill it totally thaws. after that , start cooking
Not sure exactly how long, but quite quickly. If I were you I'd try to eat it today or tomorrow at the most.
leave door shut as much as possible food will stay frozen at least 2or 3 days it will then need eating up to the 5th day (altogether.)
I'm not sure how long, but our power just went out a few days ago, and we were in the same situation.
Do you have a cooler? Or some insulting tub of some sort?
We got like 8 bags of ice from the store, and put all of our food in the cooler with it. That helped us out a lot, we had just gone shopping.
That depends on where it went and when it will be back.
If you open the door very fast! Maybe 2 days if you keep the door shut.
If you don't open it and depending on the outside temperature it should be good for 24 hours. The more frozen food you have in it the better.Partially filled freezers thaw faster.I would try and transfer everything to a friends freezer or get dry ice.
put in a bag and hang it out the window......if its a cold there as it is here damn it can stay till ya buy a new one.....damn blizzard
Quick go buy some ice, throw it in,as you remove somestuff to cook, it'll last 2,3 days, but if youcan't repair/replace, start cooking!! Happenedto us once, we'd just bought a 1/2beef, we had a big cookout w/friends and we all ate good forseveral days, and they really enjoyed it to. Thats better than wasting it!! Hey call a shelter, I bet they could use some thngs about now!! and write that off your taxes!!!!
You should have time to get the freezer repaired or replaced before the meat spoils.
If this is not the case, then it is time to fire up the grill and the stove and start cooking.
You may be able to rent a freezer for a short period until you can make other arrangements with the food.
If nothing else, see if family or neighbors have some extra room in their freezers.
When we lost power for a week or so, I went out and bought blocks of dry ice and used that to keep the food frozen.
good luck.
Not long. Bring it over and we'll bbq some and smoke some. I'm in Utah, can you make it tonight? : )
get a new freezer or repair it asap, but try not to open the freezer . this helps the food from thawing. but try to repair it or get a new one in 12-24 hrs.
