Why did they stop putting the metal pourer and the plastic fliptop sprinkler on the salt boxes?!

Question: AS far as I know they are still doing it. Perhaps it's just the brand that you buy. It helps to keeps costs down.

and a lot of manufacturers were in danger of being fined for excessive packaging
re cylcling is at a high, just not high enough

I just bought some salt the other day and it has both the metal pourer and the flip top sprinkler on it - It is a store brand of iodized salt, maybe that is why.

mine still has the metal thingy....i wish it had a plastic flip top, i HATE sticking my fingernail under that metal thingy....ugh
