Most extracts contain alcohol because it is an excellent solvent. And yes, this is the same alcohol found in liquor. There are cases of closet alcoholics, especially older women, drinking large amounts of Vanilla extract just to get a buzz.

But do not be concerned about baking with extracts. Because alcohol evaporates so easily, it "cooks out" of foods when cooked. There is no alcohol left when the food is eaten.

Vanilla extract is

Vanilla Beans + Alcohol = Vanilla Extract

BUTTTT

The alcohol gets baked out when baking cause of the heat exporates.

Whenever alcohol is used in cooking or baking the heat always dissipates the alcohol. Just make sure that when using vanilla extract the label reads Real Vanilla Extract or the taste will be different.

you don't taste it and it's not bad for you because you cook it.

Dont sweat it! alcohol gets cooked out of it and no its now the alcohol were you can just get drunk. yes you could get drunk if you drink the vanilla extract raw but i don't think you'll be doing that!

how old are you ???
have you ever ate simple bread is has alcohol..
you can not avoid it is,,, simple alcohol.. IT is a natural occurring compound in many fruit and foods..
study some physiology
Jesus drank wine at most meals
You say what???

The amount you are using is so small and the baking evaporates the alcohol so the chance of consuming alcohol is minimum.

"It is perhaps the greatest culinary urban myth of our time. You’ve heard it stated repeatedly on cooking shows. The chef adds a cup of wine to a delicious looking dish simmering away on the stove, leans into the camera for his/her close up, and confidently says, “We’ll give the alcohol a few minutes to cook out.” Or with a dismissive wave of a hand, assures us with, “Don’t worry about the alcohol, it will all cook out in just a few seconds.” Sadly, his or her confidence in the presumed disappearing act of the alcohol is misplaced. Research proves that the alcohol does not all cook out". From Dispelling the Greatest Culinary Urban Myth by Victoria Wesseler

Alton Brown has said the same thing many times.

With extracts there is only a tiny amount. However, it may not all dissapear during cooking.
