Is a pumpkin a fruit or vegetable?!

Question: By definition it is a fruit but it is referred to as a vegetable. A fruit has seeds in its edible flesh. More accurately, the usually edible reproductive body of a seed plant. A vegetable is a herbaceous plant grown for an edible part that is usually eaten as part of a meal. Pumpkins, cucumbers, eggplants, squashes, etc. are all fruit.

very interesting answer to your question

i thing its a vegetable

botanically, a fruit because it's the 'seed-pod' of the pumpkin plant.

Culinarily, it can be used for sweet (pie!) or savory (soup!) foods

Although it is often thought of as a vegetable it is a fruit, as are squash and zucchini and pickles.

It is a fruit! ;-)
