Accidently stuck bag of potatoes in freezer... can I save them?!

Question: Yeah... I know... it's pretty dumb. I guess I should slow down when I'm cooking!

Seriously, though, do I need to just throw them out, or would I be able to use them immediately after they thaw?

They will be ruined as they′ll look and feel like sponges when they defrost. Chuck them out.

Never did it so can't be sure. I would expect them to be rubbery My refrigerator occasionally gets a few degrees too cold in our vegetable crisper and I have had frozen celery that thawed into a rubbery mess.

Try boiling them. When they are done, try them before you add the cream and butter for mashing them and if they are still good, make mashed potatoes,
