Is the white stringy bit on oranges good for you?!


Question: i wouldn't say it was bad for you. it's called 'pith'.
all of the orange is edible but some of it tastes acidic like the skin and some of it looks grotty, like the 'pith'. i would imagine that the whole thing is crammed with vitamins and therefor, if you like to eat it, then carry on.

one of me mates had it and then died the next day!!!!!!!!

its never hurt me, and an apple tree hasnt grown inside of me for eating apple pips, so go 4 it! x

Well I eat it sometimes when I can't be bothered to peel it properly hehe :) I think it probably contains lots of dietary fibre which is obviously good for your health....helps keep things moving!

It tastes bitter, has no health benefits and is sometimes called webbing.

I take the pith all the time!
lol. Honest, that is what those bits are called. I don't suppose it would be good for you, but I can't see it being detrimental either.
