Can you eat a steamed domestic duck egg?(with little small duck inside)?!
Answers: ei, besides Filipino's. do other people eat a steamed duck's egg specially with a small duck inside?
Yes. Love it. Here's how I eat it. Crack the egg on it's rounder and grayish part. Sip the juice (somebody told me it's the duck's amniotic fluid). Rub salt on the yellow part and eat. Throw away the hard, white part. Last, eat the duck. I start with the head, munching on it's beak, and take in everything. Yum! Good with vinegar too.
how disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would imagine that there wouldn't be much meat and the down would get caught in your teeth. Doesn't sound particularly appetising.
Ever thought of letting the ducks hatch (say a clutch of 4 or 5) and then every two weeks or so freezing one. Over a period of 10 to 15 weeks you have a collection of gradually bigger ducks.
Then get an adult duck and stuff each of the ducks inside the next so you have a collection of ducks stuffed in ducks. Then roast on bbq using an indirect method with a red wine oak stave to give it a smoky flavour.
Uhm...not I (said the duck)..too weird and gross for my liking. Sorry.
I imagine lots of people eat that. I saw it on fear factor once. The people eating it were freaking out and practically throwing up and barely choking it down ....then I see the same thing a few months later on the food channel. Its apparently a delicacy in some places (but I heard once, that every disgusting 'food' featured on that show is a delicacy somewhere in the world). I just thought it was amusing that those people were practically in tears and couldn't hardly do it even for 50,000 dollars ....and other people eat it all the time and enjoy it.
Doesn't appeal to me. Sounds too crunchy.
"noanswer" is right....it is a delicatessan in many asian countries
