Why do granola bars all have peanut ingredients?!


Question: I have a tolerance/mild allergy to peanuts. meaning if i eat them, i wont die, but i'll be suffering for the rest of the day. i tried to buy some granola bars, but every single kind by every single manufacturer that i've seen has peanuts or peanut butter or peanut oil or somet such peanut **** in it. why are granola bar makers so inconsiderate of peolle with peanut allergies? its very common afterall. what shoudl peanut allergic folks do for on the go snacks?

because they suck. just buy cereal bars.

make your own. you can make things like trail mix without peanuts, and bake healthy cookies without peanuts. there are cook books available in healthy food stores that give lots of recipes for stuff like that.

The problem is that a majority of those products are made in the same factory. Some people are so sensitive to peanuts that they can be in the same room, 20 feet away and start to itch/break out just by someone opening a can. As a law, the manufacturers are required to put on the label that they were made in a factory where products with peanuts were made.
Try looking into the cereal/fiber bars. I haven't done too much research on the peanut subject. Also, try looking into those 100 calorie packs.
