Geese are force fed to enlarge their livers. I believe you mean Pate foie gras (French term). I find it's an acquired taste. You either love it or hate it.

the yelow part is just fat thus the name fatted liver in french

"Pate de foie gras". Literal translation is "paste of liver fat". I'm no veggie, but I'm just off to be sick...
