~ They both need some artistic skills (cooks do decorating and color coordination, technicians do graphics)
~ They both need to study to excel in their field (cooks need to study recipes, technicians need to study computer graphics, or something like that).
~ Involve hands-on work (cooks need to cook with their hands, technicians use their computers).
