Affect of chillies??!
Answers: I love eating hot and spicy dishes that containts a lot of chillies, like a vindaloo for example. Recently I have found that the day after eating such a dish I feel very lightheaded and really dreamy. Could this be some kind of allergic reaction to the chillies do you think? Has anyone else ever had similar symptoms to this?
I am a former chef and go threw a bottle of Jamaican Hot sauce a week, I eat flaming hot currys and have experienced the dreaded "Phal".
As for light headedness, the endorphines the chilis do release can cause bit of a lighthead feeling, and as for what "Lady Anis" say's that they are not good for you, she should maybe read all the research and come out of the dark ages, I worked in Singapore and have had curry that would kill most normal people.
Do not hesitate eat and if you were to have an allergy like milk and other foods, you would either sneeze, itch or be sick to your stomach or your throut would close shut, I was a bit light headed when I had the "Phal" in London UK, I had to sign a waiver before they would serve me, I am glad I was alone that night.
Your having a trip! Certain chillies are hallucigenic! But you have to eat alot to get their.........your a addict! Lol
I want some of those...they sound ace!
Probably after getting a 'Ring Of Fire'. Enough to make anyone lightheaded.
I eat lots of chillies every day and I dun get such problem. The only problem I had and still have is suffering from Piles...
Too much chillies is not good for our health. The worst things to get is that, you may have appendicitis.
Chilies cause the release of endorphins into the brain. That's why they can be addictive and why spicy food is so wonderful.
An alergic reaction would be very different, no known alegy causes the symptoms you describe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alergy#Sign...
Remember, what's hot going in, will be hot coming out.
I feel that way when I eat garlic. It could be that it just has your blood running well as I understand peppers have that effect and it is good for you.
I feel that way when I drink Beer.
I was watching a cookery programme the othe day funnily enough featuring chillies. They gave some guy and MRI scan and kept feeding him a really hot chilli sauce.
The test showed the effect of chillies triggures both the pleasure and pain signals
