here's an idea buy yourself a lunch box or one of those adult cooler lunch boxes usually less than $10 at walmart and a couple of freezer packs usually $.98 @ walmart most people have along with a hot cold thermos. that way you can take leftover dinner with you and keep it cold and reheat at work, also try to keep snacks on hand an invest in a "Tupperware set" with different sizes so you can take chips, sliced veggies and salad dressing for dip, and those gooey brownies you baked for dessert last night. or you could also just go with the standard no-need to keep cold pb&j sandwich but after a while that gets old. and there is one standby if you can't find a thermos this time of year buy a couple of 20oz drinks and take to lunch the first day and just bring them home and refill and reuse them that way you don't have to spend a lot of money on drinks which believe it or not a lot of people do and you have to choice of drink that you want.

If you have access to both water and a microwave, I suggest getting a bunch of "Bowl Appetit" meals. They're rice dishes (and I believe some noodle ones as well) that cook in about 6 minutes in the micro with just water to reconstitute the ingredients. There's also a microwavable Top Ramen I've discovered that isn't horrible by Nissin, called Chow Mein (chicken, beef & shrimp). Finally, Campbells and Dinty Moore both have microwavable soups & stews in the soup aisle. All of these range from about 90 cents to about $2 per serving.

Combined with some fresh fruit or celery/carrots, you've got yourself a fairly decent meal that's non-perishable & easily transportable.

If you have access to a microwave you have lots of choices. Also look for lunchbags/boxes that are little coolers. You can buy ice packs and or freeze your water bottle to keep things cold. You have tons of options out there. Like tuna salad kits, veggie salads with oil & vinegar type dressings,Lunchables...not the healthiest but will work.Fruits and veggies keep for quite awhile with no refrigerations. ;-)

fruit, oatmeal, ramen noodles cups, easy mac, dry cereal, granola, !?!?!
