If a restaurant has a banquet facility onsite?!

Question: Is the food in the restaurant different from that which is served in the banquet room even if the menus are the same for each? Since it does come out of the same kitchen and you're being charged roughly the same amount, I would think they would be similar but I was recently told they are completely different foods. Why would that be the case if that is true?

In the place I work, the menus are the same. However, if you rent the room, you may ask for a specific menu for your party.

In most cases, you choose what you want them to serve your guests. It is very seldom that it will be the same as the restaurant's daily menu. A banquet host/hostess will help you make the correct choices for your party.

The meat, starch , and vegetables are the same at the place I'm the chef of, but the restaurant potatoes get more butter and cream. The soups and sauces are made differently. The sauces need to stand up longer in the banquet department and aren't made to order. The restaurant sauces are almost all made to order. While desserts may be the same they are presented differently. Plus there are many more entree options for a banquet than in the restuarant.
