What can I use instead of pasta or rice?!
Thanks
Answers: I don't like rice or pasta. So when I make a curry or a stir fry what is something else I can serve it on?
Thanks
1. Try cellophane noodles, - if for no other reason than they are simple and fun to make. (these are the clear gluten noodles that come in a compressed "brick", that you "Flash cook" by thowing the "brick" into a wok of hot oil, and BAM! - the brick explodes into a bouquet of clear crunchy cellophane noodles. These noodles are NOTHING like pasta or rice, and the presentation is ALWAYS a dinner guest pleaser.
Other ideas:
2. Deep fry yam or sweet potato laces, (LOOSE wads of long, very thin strips of sweet potato or yam), until crispy. (Excellent!)
3. Tempura battered vegatable strips & laces: You can use the yam or sweet potato laces as prepared abovr and batter & fry as per instructions on tempura mix box. Other veggies to use: Onion rings, parsley balls, juliene potatos, mushroom slices, carrot peels, etc.
4. For curry dishes try serving over Holland Rusk toast or popcorn.
5. Try chinese noodles for serving bed under stir fry, or bed ofd washed & dried baby spinach, with a squirt of lemon juice.
Good luck & Bon-a-petit !
mash
naan bread
couscous
jacket potato
Noodles, nan bread, whatever you like.
I would use thinly sliced potatoe slices that have been cooked in the oven
Naan bread and popadoms...cous cous, noodles, jacket potato or even mash.
Chapati is good, naan bread is better but cous-cous is best!
Or even at a push toasted bread, thick slices.
how about cous cous. very easy to do, just add boiling water,
Potato au gratin.
Try it on polenta: that could be very tasty.
You can try Cus Cus...or roasted potatoes...You can find roasted potatoes in your freezer aile of your supermarket and Cus Cus in the rice section where the Rice o roni is.....
couscous is simple and quick, also polenta, bulgar wheat, any of those will go with curry.
cous cous
