ANY kind of seafood is packed w/omega 3's, especially salmon, and is the healthiest, natrually low in fat, and protein packed. As long as you bake, broil, or grill it...

I love a nice pan grilled 6oz cut of fresh salmon seasoned with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. It's to die for!

Avoid breading/battering it. Stick with any steamed leafy green vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, green beans, squash, brussel sprouts, and even mushrooms.

Limit your starches/carbs like potatoes, corn, sauces, noodles, pasta, white bread/muffins, and sugars. Instead eat whole grains, nuts/seeds, old fashioned oatmeal, and other complex carbs for sustained energy and avoiding insulin spikes.

Healthy drinks: Water, iced tea, green tea, and even a diet coke or two. Just avoid adding sugar. Use sugar substitute instead like splenda or stevia.

you should maybe read the Kevin Trudeaux book on diet. Weight loss is not about diet and exercise . It is about re setting a rhythm, so to speak, in your body. Your body will naturally regulate it's own weight. The problem is a lot of us get off track and then our weight is out of control and all the dieting and exercise in the world wont help.

take your meals regularly and stop on snacking. avoid fried foods and sweet stuff. you may see that you gradually lose weight.

Foods that have special recognition as health foods include almonds, apricots (dried), avocados, chicory, coconut, dates, endive, figs, flaxseed, grapes, mango's, olive, papayas, parsley, persimmons, pineapple, prunes, rhubarb, soybeans, turnips, walnuts, watercress.
Include a combination of these in your diet as fresh salads, soups or snacks, and fruits and vegetables.
Also, try to lessen your intake of meat, dairy, high processed food-fast food or fried food. All of these contain a lot of fat.
This should help you stay healthy and keep the weight down.
