Will my turkey be thawed by tomorrow morning?????!
Answers: I forgot to take my turkey out of the freezer last night. It's 8:30 a.m. right now on December 24th. I've taken it out now and it's on my kitchen counter....is there any other way to thaw it by tomorrow morning????
ONLY set in COLD water, Hot water is VERY dangerous for bacteria to grow on it.
Leave it in the sink all day today with changing the cold water & turning the bird several times (breast down in water) Then tonight put it in the fridge for over night. Get up early tomorrow & set it back in COLD water. If you don't want to stuff it it can be a little froze when you put it in the over. Just take all of the giblets out of the cavity.
I'd put it in a waterproof bag and sit it in a sinkful of warm / hot water.
It isn't safe to thaw / defrost things at room temperature.
Check out a few cooking websites, especially festive food websites.
Dont thaw it on the counter. If you have a big cooler, (make sure it is nice and clean) put cold water in it and place turkey in there. Every hour or so , go and change out the water. If you dont have a large cooler use a clean sink , or you can get one of those styrefoam coolers. Yiou should be good and thawed by tomorrow morning . If you use a reusable cooler dont forget to clean it out real good with hot water after using it for this purpose. Poultry is always a good place for bacteria.
absolutley put it in a large bag and just soak it in luke wrm to cool water, you dont want hot because it can partially cook the outside of the turkey and create bacteria. also i would try to rotate it a bit happy holidays !
no i dont think it will because i think you should at least leave it out for about 2 days so you might have to find a different way to defrost it? sorry but im pretty sure thats right hope it helps stuartmack46687156
Good Luck! You can soak it in hot water with a little bit of salt. Keep checking it to see if it is defrosting. You will probably have to change the water a couple of times. Leaving it out on the counter will not hurt the turkey. You should of taken it out and put in the refrigerator 3 days ago. This process has helped me in the past(soaking the turkey).Merry Xmas
I wouldn't listen to the first person because even with warm water the bacteria would spread even more + you could start to cook the turkey on the outside and that would not be good-eats. my opinion is that you put the turkey on a bowl it does not have to fit but the biggest you can find is best let semi cold water run from your tap over it until its done . i know what you are thinking why don't i just soak it. it will defrost faster with the water running over it like a water fall. i got it from the show good-eats on food network. IF YOU STILL DON'T LIKE WHAT ANYONE SAYS THEN PUT THE BIRD YOU HAVE KNOW BACK IN THE FREEZER AND SAVE IT FOR ANOTHER TIME TWO OR FOUR WEEKS LATER AND SPEND $20.00 ON A TURKEY THAT IS DEFROSTED FOR YOU AT THE STORE. IF I HAD THE MONEY THEN THIS IS WHAT I WOULD DO.
