The basics are rice, beans, fruit, veggies, chicken, fish, oatmeal, soy, eggs, and a little cheese, yogurt, and olive or canola oil.
You have to cut out any extra added sugar, salt and fat. Eat nothing processed, no cereal, fast food or anything made of white flour like pasta or bread.
When you are on a healthy diet, you have to eat more often. Three meals and three snacks are common, but they are all small. You may at first think it's bland, but you can use all the seasonings you like.

Buy lots of fruits and weggies!!
Salmon is the best meat (I get the chum salmon in 50 pound boxes for a little over a dollar a pound (they are the fish without the insides and headless). Also whole wheat flour, peanuts, anything that is whole and not processed. Skim milk. Avoid anything salty. Pizza is horrible Fruits and fruit juices. Make sure to get Vitamin A (pumpkin, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe.) Brocolli and peas are real good.
