Why do tomatoes sometimes taste doggy?!

Question: Are you storing your tomatoes in the fridge? Because that can DEFINITELY have an effect on the taste and texture of tomatoes - best to keep them at room temp if you can. And I know what you mean about the metallic taste with some canned foods - tuna in particular! Man...that drives me crazy, though it doesn't happen all the time!

you mean dodgy? I think the quality of tomatoes in shops are generally rubbish. I'll never forget when I went to Turkey, ah the tomatoes were plump and red and so sweet and tasty ...
