Why do many people consider cakes and cupcakes to be completely different things?!
I have noticed, especially with folks who are looking for alternatives to a wedding cake on the wedding sites and even here at YA, that many people consider them to be entirely different from each other. I am honestly curious as to how that even works?
Person A: I don't like the taste or texture of cake. What can I get instead?
Person B: Try cupcakes instead.
Person A: Great idea! Never thought of that.
Does that seem strange to anyone else?
Answers: They are the exact same thing, just in different serving presentations. They taste identical obviously since they come from the same batter and use the same icing. A single serving of cake is the same size roughly as a whole cupcake.

It is strange. It's because many people are uneducated-they don't have a lot of information, and also they have never learned to put two and two together. :(
lmao! That is the best laugh I've had all day! Yes, that is definitely strange - I have never seen (well, I guess I've just never noticed!) this issue, so now I'm gonna have to watch for it. I don't know why anyone would think they are different!
