How long are eggs good outside of the refrigerator?!

Question: When bringing up my groceries from the grocery store, I left a carton of I left a carton of eggs in the car. They were in there for about 7 hrs and it's about 55 outside. Are they bad?

It said anything after 2 hours of not being refrigerated is best to throw them away.

The temperature in car will be more than 55 so the eggs might have gone rotten. You will know from the bad smell when u will break the egg.
