It's a fruit, often called avocado pear. I love it. It's on the same line as tomatoes, fruit or vegetable, I think of them as fruit and often have the small ripe ones with sugar sprinkled over them.

Glad you liked it. Guess how I knew it was a fruit? Some years ago while on a trip to Vancouver, I was waiting for my tour bus and a lady beside me from the Carribean asked me if I would like a pear..... Report It

It was a hot day and I only had my bottle of water so I said Yes, thank you very much. She gave me an Avocado. Not being a great lover of fruit & loved.. Report It

vegetables, I was really delighted. But I came home & researched why she called it a pear. No wonder I liked it. Still do. Happy New Year! Report It
