How safe is it to eat Road Kill?!

Question: I knew this veterinarian back a few years ago who use to pull over and pick up road kill to take home, and cook. She worked with all kinds of animals, and to her meat was meat once it was dead. Just cook it a bit longer, and be mindful of gravel...

Who could do this?

Come on! A road kill is a road kill. I don't know of anyone who would intentionally run over an animal. When you see a road kill, that should NOT make you feel guilty of it when someone else did it. If you take it and cook it, it could become a crime because some states like WA and CA will fine you big time and even put you in the slammer.

about as safe as being in the road with it when it was hit.

If its fresh, it will be ok. Check out Tom Brown's website. He teaches survival classes. He uses road kill.

If it is cooked, it is fine.

lift it up by the back legs slit throat be shure most of the blod will drain
Enjoy

wait...if your friend was a vegetarian why was she eating meat?
