My cat likes to eat tomato, cucumber, fruits and yogurt. I give her a little bit. Are these food safe for her?!

Question: My cat is very friendly. She is very open about food! :P She wants to try everything I eat. tomato, cucumber, peach, apple, melon, oatmeal, broccoli, green beans... she is crazy about yogurt and tomato. I only give her a little bit each time. (1/2 tbsp) She eats her own cat food regularly. I'm wondering if it's safe for her to eat a these human food. She is just sooo cute when lick the food from my fingers! she also chews all my plants. She was very upset once when I hid roses from her. I buy her catnip and other cat grass for her once a while. but seems like she is veggie lover. What kind of vegetables and fruit can i feed her?

that sounds fine. My cat likes those frozen mixed veggies - peas, corn, tiny cubes of carrot, and green beans. Also, tiny pieces of broccoli. And cantaloupe! She comes running when she smells me eating them. And just like your cat, she almost always will only accept the veggies from my hand, not a plate. If she or I drop a piece on the ground during the process, I have to pick it back up before she'll eat it. She will only eat the veggies plain - gets miffed if I put pepper on them, and won't eat it if it has butter or cheese. I give her up to a couple tsps of fruit/veg at a time.

My cat also likes peanut butter and brown sugar. Those two I feed her no more than a 1/2 tsp of one at a time.

If I'm eating a chicken enchilada she will beg for a taste of the sauce, but not eat any of the actual chicken filling I offer.

I guess the key is moderation. It sounds like you have a good sense of a cat-portion. I think some cats just need more veggies; or maybe ours are the only ones smart enough to eat them :)

careful with some fruits....grapes for example can cause renal failure in dogs and cats...

NO NO NO NO STICK WITH CAT FOOD those foods can be harmful for a cat just like chocolate CAT FOOD CAT FOOD I HOPE ITS NOT TO LATE!

Ditto on the fruit thing from a previous post. Also, make sure not to feed any grains because corn and other grains can give them diabetes, especially cats.

My cat used to eat cantelope, tomatoes, watermelon, and a few other things. She ate them for years and was fine. So as far as those things go, I think she'll be fine unless you see otherwise.

The yogurt probably isn't to good for her. The myth about cats and milk is false. They like it but it is bad for them. As far as the rest of the food goes, if she likes it let her have a little bit. All animals still need vitamins and minerals, just like we do. Just because a cat is a natural meat eater does not change this.

my siamese cats eat almost every thing i eat. they wait at the front door to see what i bring home to eat from the grocery store. they eat fresh bread, pizza, soups, meats, iced tea, casseroles (ANY kind). peanuts, popcorn, candy, most anything baked, stirred or fried.
actually, most of this stuff is good for them. check your cat food label. see how many veggies are in there? they provide vitamins, minerals, and probably most important, fiber, so you know what that can do.
actually though, cats must have some sort of meat in their diet. they need a substance called taurine. dogs can be vegetarians with careful diet planning, but cats can't.
anyways, the only thing i know not to let your cat have is chocolate. i know that sugar isn't good for them, but they don't know that, so we all eat our share.
OH. and don't let them eat plants, plastic bags, glass, bricks, postmen, or Volkswagen's, even if they have a load of catnip inside.

carrots

Avoid grapes or raisins and chocolate and you're fine.
All my cats have had different foods they liked and it never hurt them a bit. I had one cat who liked green chiles!

yes they are fine. i have a cat that loves cooked asparagus..and a dog that loves cool whip..it`s fine and for those that say otherwise are not animal lovers..they only are saying what other people are telling them or what they have heard in passing...like chocolate isn`t good for dogs it can kill them.. well i have a cockapoo and she loves her chocolates.. she is 14 and has been eating it eating since she was a pup..i bring home bridge mix once a week and she has her favorites.. she only gets a piece once every couple of days..so give her what she wants and just watch it`s all good.. and as for the one that said not to feed them grains? look at the contents of dry cat food..
