Little black things in instant rice?!

Question: I opened a box of instant rice and found several little black things that looked like some type of small casing. I often find dark bits in boxes of white rice, and I'm wondering what they are?

Dennis could be right but they could also be the bran that is separated from the rice and did not get completely sifted out. U find these kinds of things in lower priced, discounted items.

i suspect it is some kinds of insects
when rice are kept fer too long it would grow insects small ones; black jus like those you described
but i could be wrong
