Question: I have some chicken eggs that have been in the back of my fridge for at least 3 weeks they look and smell fine. I am going to cook them. When do eggs expire?

Usually eggs expire a few weeks after they are bought. The eggs I buy are fresh but sold in packages which have the expiry date written on them. I think u can still use the eggs, my moms leaves eggs in the refigerater for weeks before she uses some of them.

Store the eggs in a fridge (in their box so that they don't absorb flavours or odours of strong foods through the shells).

They will keep for up to 2 weeks - check the date stamp before using.

If you place them pointed end down, the yolk will remain centred in the white.

I keep mine refrigerated for weeks, many weeks. Haven't had a bad egg in more years than I can remember. I buy Omega 3 eggs in double plastic containers because the shells are porous and could take in other food flavours. I always crack them into a separate dish before using.

I only use 2 or 3 a week. I have a friend who doesn't like to take chances ... she 'borrows' one or two a week from me because she doesn't want to buy a dozen in case they go bad. Well, since I have to buy my groceries on line & have them delivered, I buy 2 doz when I need them. Go figure.

Well, I'm in my 70's now and just waiting for the expiry date on me...what's this called? Planned obsoletion?
