Canada,
100 a week for two, 50 for 1 person a week.

That is eating all meals at home, self prepared good food not junk. Includes steaks, and roasts, fruits and veg. Do not spend a huge amount on non food stuff like juice, chips.

Many people who don't spend much at the grocery store such as the one here of 25/ week for 2 people are buying food out, fast food etc.

I spend 100 dollars a month on groceries for me and my boyfriend. Which is considered small amount to most, but we only but whats on sale.

I would say around $60 a week.

Hubby and I spend about $70/week (United States). We do have a one-yr. old, but he requires no special foods - just a small portion of whatever we're eating. Back before he was born I would say it cost us around 50-60 dollars a week in groceries.

I live in America, and my husband and I spend $500/month on groceries.

USA. $50 per week. Try and buy items that are on sale. Most are sold below cost. WalMart has the lowest prices. Was in the business for 32 years on the supplier side and I know what products cost. Get an understanding of store brand items and their quality vs national brands. Many are actually the same with a different label.

My husband and I spend about $100 each week on groceries, and other essentials like toilet paper, kleenex, dog food, etc. For just groceries I would say around $65 each week. We do eat at home just about every day with maybe two dinners out each month.

Michigan, USA

I just finished my spreadsheet on this. My hubby and I spent an average of $390 a month last year. That's just food and non-alcoholic beverages. No dog or cat food, TP, or takeout, but we don't dine out or get takeout often anyway.

My goal for 2008 is to get the monthly average down to $340 while still eating well and healthy.
