Should potatoes and onions NOT be stored together?? If so, why?!

becouse they accelarate each others decompostion, by the
particales they emit, if they in proximities

but other then that is no danger whatsooever

just they wont last taht long

I don't see why not unless one is rotting. Do you mean before or after they have been cut up or cooked. Either way I don't think it matters.

Here's some help. Potatoes and onions CAN be stored together but I don't know why. Sorry.

Many say that storing them together will increase the rate at which they spoil. However, I routinely keep them together in a bowl in a cool dry spot and have never had any problems. I guess it depends on how long you'll be storing them.

I don't store them in the fridge but I store both potatoes & onions in the pantry. Never had a problem, however, if a potato or an onion is going really soft I will toss it out.
