What exactly is the difference between a soft drink and a "water beverage"?!

Question: I got some of that Sobe Life Water and Tropicana Squeeze. It's pretty much Kool-aid packaged as "a vitamin enriched water beverage." It's neither clear nor sugar free.

? Any one know how it still retains the right to call itself water? In any sense, aren't all beverages "water beverages"? I mean, as opposed to non-water beverages?

Ummm... marketing strategy? Target demographics?

Soft Drink has carbonation, and water drinks do not.

CO2

no, soda has carbonated water which doesnt really give you water for your body

same old,....

Water beverages have water in them.
Soft drinks have carbonated water in them. And usually alot of chemicals too.

a soft drink can be soda and has chemicals and so many extra ingredients and stuff and a water beverage....well....it's self explanatory, it is made out of water and a few other things

soft drinks are carbonated. they eat away at your bones, muhaha

I agree totally the concept is a lie and they are the father of a lie

no carbonation in water drinks other then that they same

Soft drinks have carbonation and are very sweet, even if artificially sweetened. IMHO

A soft drink is normally a Carbonated beverage (Coke, sprite, pepsi, etc)

While a water beverage is ANY beverage that contains / is comprised mostly of water (kool-aid).

Therefore, a soft drink CAN fall into the category of a "water beverage".

EDIT: lmfao noo.. its called "JUICE". Whoever calls it a soft drink doesnt know what it means. xD

Soft Drinks bloats your stomach and make you very gassy. Water is better than soft drinks. Soft drinks are unhealthy if you drink it a lot

water beverages is basiclly water with flavor in it and maybe some vitamins and soft drinks are pop like pepsi and coke and sprite and also usually carbonated

Soft drinks are carbonation and sugar, and basicly syrup while water beverage has a lot of water, and is based on water!

Not all beverages are water beverages

1. 100% fruit juices or drinks made from concentrates cannot be considered so.

Probably water beverage is something that has 100% water for the liquid part and is enriched with vitamins and minerals....

The term soft drink refers to drinks, often carbonated, that do not contain alcohol. The name "soft drink" specifies a lack of alcohol by way of contrast to the term "hard drink" and the term "drink", the latter of which is nominally neutral but often carries connotations of alcoholic content. Beverages like colas, sparkling water, iced tea, lemonade, squash, and fruit punch are among the most common types of soft drinks, while hot chocolate, hot tea, coffee, milk, tap water, alcohol, and milkshakes do not fall into this classification.

well almost all beverages could call itself a water beverage because almost all of them have water in them

same old...........

The carbonation in all soft drinks causes calcium loss in the bones through a three-stage process:

The carbonation irritates the stomach.
The stomach "cures" the irritation the only way it knows how. It adds the only antacid at its disposal: calcium. It gets this from the blood.
The blood, now low on calcium, replenishes its supply from the bones. If it did not do this, muscular and brain function would be severely impaired.

well soda has cO2 in it (like coke, pepsi, etc.) and water beverages dont (like ice tea, lemonade, etc.)

Water is good for you. With floride and vitamins and soft drinks are not good for you. With sugar and fat and stuff like that.

From what I understand, Water drinks/beverages are supposed to be a healthy type of drink. A soft drink is a soda. I do see what you mean though, they all have some type of water in them. But i believe it is because the water beverages has more water and good stuff in it as opposed to soda which have no nutritional value.

Soft drinks are carbonated, they fill you more. water is a kinda natural

Water vs. Other Beverages
There is a difference between drinking pure water & beverages that contain water. Fruit juice, soft drinks, coffee, etc., may contain substances that are not healthy, & actually contradict some of the positive effects of the added water. Caffeine beverages stimulate the adrenal glands and act as diuretics, robbing your body of necessary water. Soft drinks contain phosphorus which can lead to depletion of bone calcium. Soda contains sodium. Fruit juices contain a lot of sugar & stimulate the pancreas. These drinks may tax the body more than they cleanse it. A 12 ounce can of regular soda contains the equivalent of 9 teaspoons of sugar and loads of empty calories. Other Beverages also contain dehydrating agents.

They may actually reduce the water reserves in the body! Drinking other beverages to the exclusion of water also causes you to lose your taste for water. This is particularly true with children as they become dependent on Sodas & juices.

NO! kool-aid is not a soft drink.
Only carbonation drinks are.
