How would it taste if I made a sauce out of a marinade?!

Question: I bought some pretty inexpensive pieces of steak, and my husband would like me to cook them slow in the slow cooker so that they aren't so tough. I have marinated them overnight in a montreal steak marinade. Could I thicken up the remaning marinade with some flour or corn starch and cook that with the steaks in the slow cooker? Or is there any other idea I should try? Thanks!!

Sure you can.

I and I'm sure many other cooks have made sauces out of marinades. I'd thicken the sauce during the last hour of cooking in your crockpot. If your marinade has a very strong flavor you can cut it with some water or broth.

Note* you've had raw meat sitting in this stuff so don't taste it until it's been in the crockpot for an hour or two.

soak it with brandy or red wine and watch your husband drool like your wedding night ... see the plan through and it will bring a smile to my face

If you never done that before, try putting a little on the side and if you like it then go for it because you don't want to mess your dinner up if you don't like it. It sounds delicious to me, I might try that myself. You should make potatoes with that it will go great with that marinade.

You can certainly do it, but you might have to cut the flavor a little, with some broth or something, because marinades are extra strong intentionally so that they get a lot of flavor into the meat.

Yes,you can do that...Just make sure it is cooked before you eat any of it...the meat has been sitting in it all night...
