I need to ship some meat, I 've never done it before.. any help would be appreciated...?!
Answers: tips, least expensive companies, how to package it... THANKS!
Wrap the meat tightly in plastic wrap (multiple times) and put that in a large zip lock (if possible). Get as much air out as possible. Eliminating air for contacting the meat is very important.
Pack the meat in a Styrofoam cooler and use dry ice to keep it cool. You can sometimes by dry ice from Baskin and Robins. Don't touch the dry ice with your bare hands, and don't let it touch the packaged meat directly. You can use Styrofoam peanuts in the cooler.
When its packed in tight, use duct tape to seal the cooler and then place that in a box. Pack around the cooler with paper or styro peanuts.
Label the box and send UPS or Fedex nex day air or 2 day ground.
There you go!...and I didn't even make any meat jokes...and believe me, I had several that I wanted to.
Luck.
i have a piece of meat for you. Its pick up only.
well without knowing the specifics of international shipping codes and the likes.....i would sincerely only want to ship cured meats. If that is not an option then check into using dry ice because it is basically carbon dioxide and will sublime instead of melting.....that means a nice cold temperature as long as the dry ice lasts, and no soggy package on delivery. Just make sure the item is sufficiently packaged to keep the dry ice through shipping, and avoid "freezer burn"...if you look at the following site you will get the idea for what is needed, but i would suggest some web searches on the topic just to be sure
ok do this buy a cooler and ice then put the meat in there and put duck tape so it wont fall out
