Anyone remember the pint bags of milk?!
Answers: my dad used to buy them all the time where did they go?
Yes. I used to go across the road to the small local shop for this bag of milk, and by the time I'd got home - with the "bag" now being wet - my hands were covered in the print.
Think it was a bad idea and they just faded away.!!!
landfill site
No sorry. I remember glass milk bottles with a foil lid that the birds used to peck in wintertime but I don't remember bags.
I love those! Haven't seen them in a long time. We had them in our cafeteria and lots of times the little bags would burst when we poked the straw in :)
Yeah and soup in a basket.
Yes!!! my grandmother used to use them. She would place the whole bag in a plastic jug and snip off the corner.
Thanks for bringing that memory back to me
We didn't have them in Ireland, but 20 yearsago we saw them on sale in Portugal. Here we had glass bottles with foil lids, now it is all tetrapaks and plastic containers.
Yes, now you remind me. The plastic bags that squirted milk everywhere when you snipped the corner off. For some reason, I only remember them at the seaside - probably because that's the only time we had to buy milk from the shop instead of having it delivered in bottles.
not sure if it is the same things that you remember but when at school up till primary 3 we used to get milk in little plastic bags.
i have bags of milk at home but maybe thats because i live in canada
yes i remember the milk at primary school was in little glass half pints in bottles, then we changed to half pints in cartons, it could be they went has not many people bought them has it was mostly schools had the orders provided this was in the early 1950s and the beginning of the 1960s but them days the milk was thicker and creamier on the top today milk is watery with no cream. has we at my school seperated the cream to whisk up to make cream for our puddings or for the teachers coffee.
