Does eating alot of fiber make you gassy?!

Question: I ave been eating alot of fruit and I have been very gassy and it stinks.

Answers: I ave been eating alot of fruit and I have been very gassy and it stinks.

it takes a while till you system becomes used to a lot of fibre. however, you will always have more gas than a diet lower in fibre.

YES!!!!! I was eating those Fiber 1 bars and I had to stop because I was too stinky!!

Yes it does. If it stinks, it depends on what kind of fruit you are eating.

It depends. It really makes you go poop very often, and your body wants to expel it so, yeah, I guess you can let out gas a lot. Your body just probably doesn't like to go to the toilet very often. :-)

Yes, you have hit on what is happening. Fiber is good, but you have to introduce it slowly, and for some people, not as much as other people. It just depends upon your digestion system, as each varies a bit.

The stink is normal, so don't be concerned with that. That is simply the gasses created by the foods and it is called intestinal gas. Everyone has it, some just cover it up better than others, or eat differently.

Slow down on the fruit, and you will be fine. Then go back to it again, but not in large quantities.

Me too! Fiber is healthy though, it keeps you regular (in the colon area).

lol... well what kind of gas dat we expel doesnt stink?

not me, but then I eat a high fiber low fat vegan diet so that's my normal diet. I just had like a cup of figs or so, no gas.
but it it isn't your normal diet, I can see why you might have trouble.

Buy some Beano. It really works.

Pam

And on the eight day... God gave Adam and Eve a fruit basket. On the ninth they had gas.
