Just for fun: If you could open your own food establishment, what would you serve?!


Question: All my DH's Grandmother's recipes...she was an awesome cook...her chicken and dumplings were wonderful..her turkey and dressing was talked about for days after a Holiday....She fried up some nice seafood too....and she could cook mackerel from a can and do things with it,,,with rice,,,,that was so good....

I also loved her way with dry beans and peas....she served me my first navy bean, pasta, tomato, dish and it was so good....just simple Southern food....along the lines of Paula Dean... they used sugar, bacon grease for frying potatoes in..cream, butter, sour cream,,,cheese and never worried about how unhealthy all that was...and raised three healthy sons......

But they ate fresh veggies from the garden too and fresh chickens and eggs from the yard..All thier dairy,,,,.milk and cheese from their own cow....fresh cream,,,buttermilk,,,,butter,,,,,,came from thier own animals....they didn't consume all the preservatives and unnatural foods,,, we do...so maybe they were still healthier than we are...

Authentic Cuban, as I can never find anyplace with food like the foods I emember in most "Cuban" restaurants I visit.

Fresh homemade pasta & seafood & salads. Crusty breads & cheeses. I would have a good wine cellar as well.

Pasta, lots of profit in selling pasta dishes. It is also yummy

Sushi, but only from Live Tanks in the restaurant. Wouldn't it be cool to see live tuna swimming about? Geoduck would be another eye catcher.

If i could open my own food establishment it would be like a dessert place... i would make all the desserts and it would be awesome!!!

I will serve: rice and beans, pork (pernil), salads, salcocho(a kind of soup, with 7 different meats), locrio (rice and chicken or pork , cook together), fried sweet plantains, etc.
