How do you like your french toast? What you like to put on it?!

Question: I like mines with syrup & butter.

Answers: I like mines with syrup & butter.

Love French toast - but not in restaurants as the bread is lucky to meet the eggs.

I switch up 3 eggs with a little milk salt & black cracked pepper and soak my bread - 2 slices - first one side and use a spatula to turn over and finish soaking the other side. I put in a large saute pan preheated on medium and put a pat of butter in the pan to melt & add the bread slices soaked in the egg and use a spatula to do it. Cook on one side until golden and turn over, still need a spatula, and cook the other side and cook the other side until golden and cooked through. Looks like a souffle. Put on a dinner plate with butter & real maple syrup with a side of 2 rashers of crisp bacon and enjoy with a cup of coffe or tea.

We all like it this way and so do visiting friends & relatives. I think you will like it too. The French make it this way. Report It

  • I add vanilla extract and orange zest to the eggs. Then I serve the toast spinkled with cinnamon and maple syrup.

strawberry syrup with lots of whipped cream, some rasins, and blueberrys! Try it, its sooo good!

    With honey.

I like mine with lots of butter and powdered sugar!

    CREAM CHEESE AND JELLY

honestly...........powdered sugar and lemon........might sound weird but it is good.

I like it crispy, not soggy.
With butter and sugar or just bit of syrup.

I like mine made with think slices of Italian scali bread, really soaked up with egg/milk batter (with a touch of fresh ground nutmeg) and cooked (in butter) so it puffs up real nice and then covered in real maple syrup.

    peanut butter & syrup

This is what I do. Beat eggs, then add sugar, cinnamon, & milk. & continue beating & mixing. Dip the bread on both sides & then fry with light butter until the eggy part is fully cooked. Not cooking oil. & then put syrup on top.

    This depends.
I have been on the Jenny Craig Diet and when I eat Jenny french toast, I use apricot jam on top.

If I am not dieting and order regular french toast at a diner, I will have it with cinnamon and real maple syrup.

stack of 4 slices ,cheese between each slice then tinned tomatoes (1tin) or tin of baked beans Why do u americans always have it sweet? try the brit way just once!!

Hehe I like it just the way it is. Maybe a little syrup sometimes, but usually I prefer my french toast plain!

    same but with chocolate

I like my french toast to be well cooked,no gooey mess here, and I like butter and maple syrup on my french toast! ;-)
