Do the English make any tasty food besides fish and chips?!


Question: no we don't , fish & chips is the only tasty food we make. All the rest is really boreing like black pudding , haggis ,beef stew & dumplings, cornish pasty, toad in the hole, chedder cheese ,blue cheese ,gooseberry fool with custard, rhubarb crumble ,even our breakfast is boreing , not like your pancakes & syrup yummy ,all we have is a full English breakfast ,sausage eggs bacon fried bread hash brownies black pudding mushrooms tomatoes baked beans toast oh and a good old cup of English tea ,so yeah we aint got many tasty things to eat ,still never mind , it beats eating your grits and corn bread though, Try some of it next time your over here maybe it'l bore you so much yuol go home early ,Mind you our women are quite tasty so its not that bad living over here .

    • yes new castle ale quite possibly the best ale ever.
    fish and chips are popular in england but so is a roast dinner which is like meat such as lamb or beef or chicken served with vegetble, potatoes and gravy.
    but england is being taken over by different cultures so there is alot of chinese places, pizza places, kebab shops etc
    No ....Fish and Chips is all we ever eat....and we only drink Ale...and we all wear flat caps....
    The best roast beef and Yorkshire puddings! Trifle! Pies of all descriptions, from steak and kidney to apple. Fruit cake. Mushy peas - strange but delicious. Bangers and mash (sausages and mashed potatoes). Toad in the hole (sausages cooked in Yorkshire pudding batter).

    I've just moved to (a small-ish city in) the northern hemisphere and have had to make a lot of adjustments to my cooking (a smaller and rather different range of ingredients on offer), but I'm learning to love it! The sausages are to die for.
    Tea and biscuits. I think they make shortbread as well.
    Bangers & Mash is pretty good. And when I visited my family there, my cousin did something really yummy. She took flavored yougurt, like strawberry yougurt, and crumpled up a Flake in it and ate it. A Flake is a chocolate candy bar over there, and it is thee best chocolate I have ever eaten.
    Scones, and shortbread, just name a couple. . .
    I think all of the foods they eat are tasty. I toured the British Isles last year and this time had a lot of restaurant food & Hotel food. Superb would be an understatement. The beef was outstanding. Hams were so flavourable, Pork melt in your mouth, Seafood caught and served same day, wild Atlantic salmon, sea bream, cod, haddock all manner of crustaceans and bi-valves. Vegetables never frozen, the butter and cheeses so creamy, service impecable. Many European influences and certainly Asian fusion. A great many Indian Foods have taken over the Chippy fish & Chips.
    Cakes & Pastries - no concern here about creams & butters.

    There are still many traditional foods being served but it is little wonder why the very rich Americans chose to visit & have their weddings there.

    SHEPARDS PIE is THE best!!
    toad in the hole.... there is alot more than just fish and chips(even though they are out of this world!!)
