Wedding cake flavor??!

Question: Maybe this is inconvenient, but if it's a stacked cake, how about making each layer a different flavor?

Make the biggest layer a rich chocolate like devil's food cake.
The second largest layer should be something very plain like a white or yellow cake. When you hit the small upper layers you can go wild with some more exotic choices. Personally, I hate grown-up flavors especially the ones involving liquor.

The frosting will have to be the same for all because it has to look like a statuesque wedding cake. The frosting has to hold up to the shaping and aesthetic requirements of the paradigm. No matter, good looking frosting that doesn't taste so great won't bother anyone. They'll be thrilled to discover the cake within is tasty after all.

Almond and vanilla

yellow cake. or chocolate and yellow

vanilla, strawberry, kiwi fruit with a hint of raisin

vanilla with butter cream

Whit cake with Lemon, Raspberry and Apricot fillings.....

What you like the most. Personally I had a vanilla sponge cake with a layer of cream and raspberries covered with almond marzipan and white icing. This was because I'd moved to London where traditional wedding cake like I was raised eating isn't readily available and I didn't have the time to make my own.

If I'd had my dream cake, it would have been a two tier traditional (American) almond/vanilla white cake with white butter-cream icing. Our wedding was in the fall and I'd intended adding colour to it by laying beautiful sugared fall fruit on the top of the bottom tier and surrounding our cake topper on the top tier.

Cheers
