How long do ice cubes keep in the freezer?!

Question: I was making some cocktails last night, and when I reached for the ice cubes, I realised they'd been in there since September.
Is that o.k?
Or do they have a use-by date?

They can last as long as freezer is plugged in. But they will not taste very good added to your drink. I throw out all my cubes every 3-4 months for good measure. I wash out the containers with a solution of water and baking soda and rinse well. I have an auto ice maker in one fridge and and an indoor dispenser in the other.

I don't think so.
Water can't go off unless left on windowsill and it evaporate and go cloudy but as it's frozen i very much doubt it.

We freeze things so that bacteria, (which causes food to go off) stops working.

Water doesnt go off easily anyway, so frozen water will be fine dude.

good luck with the cubes

Bacteria cannot multiply in a freezer, so they should be perfectly OK

I wreckon they will be fine, but make some more just incase
(If you have any spare Ice Cube trays)

Best to visit the Food Standard Agency website and they will offer advice. I would of thought that you could keep frozen water as long as you wanted actually.

ice cubes if they are just water ones then dont worry they will be ok, ive always got them in my freezer sometimes left from one summer to the next.

if still not sure go in a shop look at there ice cubes and see if says how long your meant to keep them in a freezer..

Midnight~Angel :)

as long as you have something in your freezer to absorb odors that can get into your ice while freezing (something like baking soda), then the ice should be fine...

you want to make sure that you keep your ice cubes in a seperate container where they cant get contaminated, you obviously dont want meat to drip on them when you first put the meat in the freezer, or melted ice pops or ice cream.

I don't like those frozen ice cubes, much prefer fresh ones!

they'll be fine. Water doesn't ever really go off if it's frozen or well chilled at least i don't think it does anyway

They are ok, probably got that "freezer" taste though : )

Forever!

Usually the temperature in your freezer is too cold for any bad bacteria to survive for long. Unless you store biological weapons in there, (anthrax, mad cow stuff, etc)
you'll be ok and they are fine to use.
