Why do some people think BURNT food tastes yummy?!
Answers: I don't see how. I HATE burnt flavor. Like some people enjoy eating burnt toast, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, pork chops, you name it.
Because some burnt things taste good. I like my hotdogs burnt, but not my hamburg. I like my grill cheese sandwich a little burnt. I like my ribs a little burnt. I like pancakes burnt around the edge (only). Its all about personal taste.

I like brown (not black) poptarts. I don't know if that is burnt or not but it tastes yummy :D

My father made an apple crisp with burnt sugar, rum and whipped cream. So good.
Bit of char ok on meat but still has to be rare.
Blackened catfish or shrimp.
i have NO idea...it drives me nuts! the people in my family tend to have thing where the older they get the darker the setting on the toaster gets. i could always smell when my grandma was having breakfast cause of her burnt toast. now it's happening to my mom. i can only hope that i will always love my lightly done toast and that it's not some wierd family thing and i'll start turning up my toaster the older i get. pray for me. LOL
Well, when I am out pillaging villages, I often times don't eat for weeks. And when I do eat, it is often bugs and dirt. I wouldn't mind eating any food, burnt or not, at this point.

I agree with you, mostly, but one exception is this: When I eat French Onion Soup, the cheese that's broiled on top MUST be burned!
I also like steak that's absolutely BLACK on the outside, but nearly mooing inside ("Pittsburgh Rare") ... maybe because I'm from Pittsburgh, and that's popular there?

For me, I'm not too keen on burn't food, but I do prefer over cooked meat, purely and simply, I know I need meat in my diet otherwise I feel ill, but I can't stand the meat taste, so it has to be really really overdone.
