We grew up on a farm and we miss the taste of fresh warm milk, cold, thick buttermilk with flakes of butter in it, home made butter and cheese; we all wish we could keep a cow to milk but there is no place in town to keep a cow because they need lots of pasture and you still have to feed them some grain to get the rich creamy milk we remember. Also you have to milk the cow twice a day every day or they will be in pain and will quit producing milk.
One of the reasons the things your parents and grandparents cooked don't taste as good as they used to are because they used fresh unpastureized dairy products and the eggs were what is called free range where the chickens ate naturally instead of being fed all kinds of chemicals in their food to make them produce bigger and more eggs.
I wish I lived in the country where I could have cows and chickens so my gandkids could learn the taste of such things before they are completely unknown.

I don't drink milk. It's yucky.

heh, kinda sorta. But I'm guessing it would cost even more to keep a milk cow. Unless you lived in the country side or on a farm-

i don't know. cows are kind of hard to care for. i have chickens. they are easy to take care of and they pay for themselves. even with egg prices rising. chickens are worth it.

well cows just eat grass so i dont think it costs so much just put it in ur back yard.... and then just milk it everyday and u have ur sum milk.. ahhhhh goooood milk.
