What are those "things" in Tapioca pudding?!
you ever have one of those funky asian drinks with the pudding balls in them? its like an entire drinks worth of swallowing pills. i wonder if any of them use tapioca pudding. ugh. i just triggered my gag reflex thinking about it.

its a grain, similar to rice or pasta, when cook it releases starch and thats why it looks gelatinous....its also what thickens the pudding.

Tapioca is made from dried cassava root, which is somehow then broken up into small dried starchy particles..
