If dog food is safe for dogs, would you eat it? Why and why not?!

Question: Considering that now they have gourmet varieties like filet mignon and salmon. Sounds yummy doesn't it?

I was talking to my butcher before Christmas that the packs of cut meat labelled as pet food is the same stuff that they sell as stir fry steak.
I bought a small pack of each and at home I opened them, and they were identical.
There was less fat in the pet packet.

I have often thought along the line you are referring to, it makes you want to rip the lid off, cook it up and let someone else eat it LoL

Have a star mate Great minds think alike.

ROTFLMAO off mate,I am not evil i would just like to try some, but want some one to try it first. Report It

  • Ewww no! Thats nasty LOL

Ofcourse!Mel Gibson ate it in Mad Max2, Paul Hogan ate Pal in his early comedy show so why not!

I don't think I could get past the smell. However, when my brother was in college and a frat pledge, the pledges cooked it into something and fed it to their frat brothers.

no i wouldn't have dog food because i not a dog!

While it may be fine for dogs who have a much different gastro-intestinal system I would rather eat people food. I've heard that a high % of dog food is sold to people who cannot afford people food. *(SAD) but true.Eating it by choice, that's another thing. Good Luck woof.

i wuld not eat it because i wanted to ... only if i have to & it has to be a life or death situation

Not unless I was very hungry! Because it tastes bad.

Nope, and my dog doesn't touch it either. He gets organic food, meat and veggies. He is seven and everyone thinks he is a puppy, he is so peppy and healthy! It is very very easy and l save money on both the value of that disgusting food that l am not buying, and also in vet's bills. I went this way because he had the scoots and the vet told me l would have to bring him in every month, pay $75 per visit, and he would have to suffer having this disgusting and painful treatment that concerns his butt...
I began to give him cooked oatmeal or bran flakes every morning {organic} , then l give him apple, cucumber, carrot, and lettuce during the day, as well as organic cookies, then l give him plain meat {fish, chicken, ground beef} with gravy if l have it, sometimes eggs if l feel like cooking them, and a few veggies...
I usually plan ahead of time and have a ton of little baggies in the freezer. Try it, you and your dog will be very happy and you will safe money, esp in vets bills.

Seeing as dog food isn't covered by the same food safety standards as apply to humans foods, eating dod food is not something I would recommend. The fillet mignon probably went infected and has been chemically treated to remove the rank smell - the salmon is likely to be the heads, tails and guts. The manufacturers sometimes add chemicals, e.g. cinder ash to reduce the stench of dogs faeces.
    Hope this helps. Woof.

Yes i eat it all the time its delisioso
