Would you consider orange juice an unsweetened fruit juice?!
Answers: "Unsweetened" just means no extra sugar has been added (usually in the form of cane sugar or fructose).
Only if no sugar or sweetener has been added to it, unlike in many commercially-available brands!!
ya usually its just sugar from the oranges
yes....unless i'ts been sweetened
Yes, as long as the cartoon says that it is 100% juice. Let me warn you though, my grandchild was in the kitchen the other day putting away the RealLemon, which clearly states on the front of the label in very large print "100% Lemon Juice" when she notices the "fine print" on the back and asks "Grandma, what are all these other things in the lemon juice if it is 100% lemon juice? I thought 100% meant absolutely all. . . "
Read the ingredients carefully.
And do be aware that orange juice is one that is exceptionally sweet compared to other "unsweetened" juices.
I would consider it naturally sweetened from the fruit itself. That is, if its either hand juiced or if it is store bought, no sugar added.
While frozen concentrates may have no added cane or corn sugars, it is full of NATURAL sugars. That is why they don't add anymore sweetner to the concentrate. They use to sweeten canned O.J. because so many of the oranges were not at peak of ripeness...they were still green and were so sour. I gag thinking about my mom making us choke that nasty stuff down.
If you are trying to watch sugars, EAT an orange so you get the advantage of the pulp which contains other nutrients as well as is some roughage.
