Are spicy foods bad for your body?!

Question: I add chili powder to almost everything because I love hot foods, is it bad

Answers: I add chili powder to almost everything because I love hot foods, is it bad

They are not bad for you.

Spicy foods made at home can replace overuse of salt (which is bad for you), so in many respects they are good for you. Eating spicy foods in a hot climate can cause sweating and assist your body's natural "air conditioning".

There are instances where spices can aggravate an ulcer and in those instances people should avoid them on the advice of their doctor. However, for the most part, it is fatty foods that are more likely to cause an ulcer to act up.

Maybe if you have a sensitive tummy or ulcer. I have read that spicy foods burn calories just a tad bit better :-)

Too many spicey foods may cause you heartburn but its not bad for your body.

As long as you're getting a good amount of water, so you don't dehydrate, and no tummy probs.. Some folks have gotten ulcers from years of hot sauces etc..not Tabasco...I mean HOT! I eat jalepenos like nothing, but I'm careful. You should be fine!

It is bad if you have to much spicy foods

spicy is actually good for you. Burns calories faster as well as having antioxidents that are good for your immune system. Keep firing it up

If you eat alot then you could get a stomachache or stomach ulcers

As long as it does not upset your stomach- then it’s actually good for you. Capsaicin (sp?) in the peppers has been shown to increase metabolism. My Woman’s One a Day for Weight Loss multivitamin lists cayenne pepper as an ingredient.

No, it's not bad. Chilies are very good sources of vitamin C.

Also, I believe there have been studies and chilies do NOT cause or aggravate ulcers.
