Australian food and nutrition?!
what would a typical menu for a meal include?
do they grow there own food?
do they raise animals that will be used for food?
whos prepares the meals?
Does the family eat meals together?
how many meals would the average family eat?
I know I sound completely clueless about australia. I just copied this question from this project im doing. I could use my brain to figure out they probably eat three meals a day lol.
I just need as much info as possible.

Most of our foods are grown in Australia, though our government is sometimes given to letting in fruits etc from other countries which worries fruit growers who are concerned about exotic diseases etc. However, we eat much the same as the English & Irish, though imigrants have brought their own 'dishes' to our notice, & Italian, French, Chinese & Indian are popular, also Thai. A typical meal here is meat accompanied by vegetables & bread, followed by a dessert. That is usually our evening meal. For the others, breakfast & lunch, usually something light, like cereal, toast & tea or coffee, lunch, a salad or a sandwhich with fruit .
Edit: Micky Mo, Heaven forbid! Nothing like America's food! Too much fat & sweet things in their diet, not to mention an over fondness for take out foods. And I for one don't eat vegemite.
Lol Australia is just like everywhere else in the world.
It all depends you cant just say that everyone grows there own food and raises their own animals to eat because im sure there are a few people who do but they would probably live out on a farm or something. I dont know anyone who does this. I get my food from the grocery store.
I am australian but ive also lived in the US and the UK and it is EXACTLY the same for food. Like what people eat. Its the same variety. Some famillies im sure would eat together at dinner time but alot of familys dont.
Usually the Adults prepare the meals if they are cooking for children?
What a pointless assignment.
They eat a lot of vegemite sandwiches. Vegemite is a yeast based spread and is very salty! Definitely an acquired taste. Most of their food is similar to English/American food. Meat, potatoes, bread, pies, etc.
Austraila eats pretty much the same types of food as other developed countries. Quite high meat consumption I think. Because of climate differences throughout the country, most things can be grown from tropical to temparate. Tasmania where I live has lots of beef, lamb, pork, all hormone and antibiotic free, much of it exported. Less imported fruit and veg than UK most homegrown in Aus.
