Are chocolate eclairs foreign?!
Answers: what country
I think chocolate eclairs originally came from France, as they made with a pastry called "Choux Pastry" which is different from our english pastries. They are also very difficult to make properly (I've tried and had a few disasters), but perhaps its just me cos Im a lousy pastry cook lol x
Who cares, I love 'em. (I'd say France)

Eclairs are French. Actually the word eclair means lightning in French, however most explanations linking the name to the pastry are rather anecdotal. Some say that the light coming of the frosting ressembles a flash of lightning, or that they are so good you eat them up in a flash! The history of the eclair is not well known. It probably has its origins in the 19th century, and could have been invented by Careme, pastry chef to French royalty.
they are french
They would be considered foreign to every country exept France.
